Jaguar Farewell, RAF Coningsby, June 29th 2007
Enthusiasts were given the opportunity to mark the final retirement of the Jaguar from RAF service at a specially arranged event at RAF Coningsby on June 29th 2007. 6 Squadron, the Flying Can Openers, hosted the day as the last RAF squadron to fly the type.
The day included visits to the 29 Squadron hanger, with their Eurofighter Typhoons, the BBMF hanger, to look at the historic aircraft and finally, the opportunity to photogrpaph RAF Jaguars for the last time, including one in some very special markings.
As an added bonus, normal airfield activities and aircraft movements were ongoing at the same time.
Thanks to all the staff of 6 Squadron and RAF Coningsby for making this happen.
