Flying Legends, IWM Duxford, July 7th 2007
In a break with tradition, 2007's Flying Legends airshow featured a modern jet in the shape of the USAF's F-15E Stike Eagle as part of the USAF Heritage Flight, flying in formation with a pair of Mustangs and the P-39 Airacobra.
In a fitting tribute to air racer and test pilot, Alex Henshaw, who died in February 2007, the Percival Mew Gull, Arrow Active and Spitfire, all flown by Alex during his flying days, provided yet another interesting sformation. The Mew Gull, piloted by Henshaw, smashed the exisitng record for flying from London to Cape Town and back.
