Duxford D-Day Anniversary Air Show, May 24th 2014

Persistent rain early on and punctuated by showers during the day, the first day of Duxford's D-Day Anniversary Air Show could be described as challenging. Fortunately, IWM Duxford has numerous hangers and historic buildings, allowing attendees to get out of the rain, see first-hand the restoration work being undertaken and view the many museum exhibits.
Commemorating the part played by aircraft and airborne forces in the D-Day landings seventy years previously, the show featured both modern aircraft and veterans of the landings themselves.
